Charles I unite

Tower mint, mm. tower, second bust crowned l., wearing ruff and scarf, mark of value behind, rev. crowned, square-topped, garnished shield (S.2690), nearly extremely fine A classic example of the Tower initial mark 20-shillings piece, showing lustre and sharp details on much of the king's portrait yet weakness of detail where it is usually located, which must owe its origins more to die-work than to strike as it is so commonly encountered. Not much legend-doubling, and the flan is nice and round, without the normal cracks. The reverse is much nicer than normal, with excellent detail in the central device and only slight doubling in the legend.
