The Association of Young Irish Archaeologists annual conference will be held in UCD from February 23rd -25th 2007 in association with the UCD School of Archaeology and the UCD Archaeological Society. The conference is an opportunity for those setting out on their careers in archaeology to get their foot on the ladder of academia and provides valuable experience in a relaxed but professional atmosphere. It is open to all and has attracted a high standard of contributions in the past. Previous participants include undergraduates of all levels, postgraduate students, recent graduates and archaeologists from the commercial world. The proceedings for Cork 2006 are in the final stages of publication and it is hoped that Dublin 2007 will also appear in print.

Papers are invited on all aspects of archaeological theory and practice as well as related subjects. Submission of abstracts for a twenty minute lecture must be made by 11th December and should not exceed 300 words. Submissions should be made to or to Brian Dolan, School of Archaeology, UCD, Belfield, Dublin 4

Information on accomodation, costs for attending the conference (which will be minimal), speakers etc will be made available on the website, through the AYIA discussion group ( ).
