Circa 1690 as per museum archie.  Did the best I could with pics.

Best part:  They were found on the surface by eye!

Cyn;

You did just fine with the pics, and they enlarge just fine. These are an interesting find, is there any more to the story? Is there any indication that they were lost there pre 1690, and not 1790, 1890, or 1990?

Hi Fleamistress

I'm sure these are hand forged ? or wrought>
pretty cool I think.

West Central Colorado If I'm right.
The museun there is pretty good. they do have Horse tack and Armor dating back as far as 1650. These were attached to a bridle of a horse to keep flies off the horse's face.
Nice recovery as well.

I used my authority to dispatch them back. Cheesy  Might hear something later.

I looked for an image of an intact one but nothing yet.

OD:

Okay.  Enough.  Drag your thorn-scratched butt forward.  I feel like some kind of spirit channeler out here!

I'll help with pics.

What's that about hostile territory and dropping the jingles because of that and all that?

Maybe you'll get 400 "wow"/"cool"/"attaboy" posts over at TN, but there's way less spam over here. Cheesy

Sigh, such humble men, my dispatches.  I was hoping they'd step forward and share their finds--like the 77 additional jingles, spanish crossbow, trail markers, etc.

It would sure be nice if somebody could provide us with a picture of similar full tack.

I cannot comment on the bridle jingles as the find is not mine so therefore i can't divulge the where portion of the event.

The frog marker and other items are on my site and i am not handing out nor sharing pics except with certain key people who are in the loop around here...a very short list.
