A fragment of a copper alloy Small Long brooch dating to the fifth or sixth centuries CE. The fragment comprises a portion of the leg and foot. The leg is flat and tapering and is decorated with marginal rows of stamped dots. The leg is separated from the foot by two ribbed mouldings. The foot expands very slightly with a forward facing ribbed terminal and is decorated with two horizontal incised lines. The catchplate is semi-circular in shape and reaches the full length of the foot. The brooch fragments measures 38mm in length and a maximum of 10mm in width.
